if you give a girl a sewing machine.... she will ask her big sister for some fabric scraps.....then she will go to her room upstairs and find something to use as a pattern...then she will lay the item out and cut a pattern... then she will study the item intensely, dissecting it with her mind...then you will hear bbbbbrrrrrrrr bbbbrrrrr bbbrrrrr through the upstais floorboards..... then she will come downstairs with the most beautiful polka dotted apron you have ever seen!
then her older sister might get a little jealous :)
but then that is why you keep your eyes open for sewing machines every time you go to goodwill!
a few months ago I found another sewing machine at goodwill that is exactly like my grandmas old singer that I gave to April awhile back, (she would never get far enough from it to let me use it anyway!) so anyway, I bought that one at goodwill for I think $20, I was so nervous somebody was gonna walk off with it before I got to the loading dock to have them put it in the van, but anyway I got it home, even got to pay for it with my $20 credit from my punch card yahoo! brought it in and kind of set it off to the side, but sooner or later hubby saw it and rolled his eyes, he doesn't understand why we need so many sewing machines but he does indulge me, after all we have 5 daughters! I don't understand why he needs soooo many screwdrivers.... until I go to look for one :)
my love for old singers is what started April's business....now she influencing Hannah (12) whose every bone is domestic!
what next??
